Chef de Cuisine at Gianni’s Restaurant, Javier Codina has worked in some of the world’s finest dining rooms around the world, including The Arts Hotel in Barcelona, The San Francisco Ritz Carlton and the exclusive Chewton Glen Hotel in Hampshire, England.
Since opening the restaurant in 1999, Javier was quick to establish a distinctive cuisine for the Restaurant. His achievements at the helm of Gianni’s Restaurant have been recognised by his growing clientele of regular patrons and celebrities alike as well as with numerous awards achieved over the years.
In August 2006, the much anticipated Gianni Events at Portside was opened, with Javier consulting on numerous aspects of the venue. Now known as one of Brisbane’s best functions centres, Gianni Events at Portside is a sought-after venue for anyone wanting style, 5-star service and excellence. Since its opening the venue has been awarded winner and finalist for Best Wedding Caterer and Best Function/Convention centre caterer for 2007 and 2008.
Javier is a constant supporter and contributor to numerous charities including the Starlight Children’s Foundation, for which he participates in the annual 5 Chef’s Dinner. He also continues to make guest appearances internationally and nationally, which in the past have included Singapore, Sydney, Noosa, New Zealand and the place closest to his heart, Barcelona.
